What this site collects, and why.
The short version: I collect what you send me in the enquiry form, and I count visits with Google Analytics. I do not sell data or use it for advertising.
Who runs this site
WPHostGuy is run by one person, Luke. Anything about your data comes to me directly.
The enquiry form
When you send the form on the Get Started page, I receive your name, your email address, your website address, the option you picked and anything you wrote in the message.
It reaches me as an email. The website does not store it in its database. The email is relayed by Brevo, the service this site sends mail through, and it sits in my mailbox, which is hosted by Zoho.
I use it to reply to you and, if you become a client, to set up your service. Sending an enquiry does not add you to a mailing list.
To limit abuse, the site keeps a count of recent submissions against a scrambled form of your IP address. That count is deleted within an hour.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are, what kind of device and browser they use, and which site sent them. A sent enquiry is counted as an event, without any of the details you typed.
Google Analytics normally sets cookies to tell one visit from another. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, those cookies are switched off by default and Google receives only measurements without cookies.
Advertising features are switched off for everyone. I do not use this data for advertising, and I do not combine it with what you send in the form.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies for visitors. The only cookies are the Google Analytics ones described above. Cloudflare, which delivers the site, may set a cookie where it needs one for security.
Hosting and delivery
Pages are delivered through Cloudflare, which sees your IP address in order to serve and protect the site. The site is hosted on Google Cloud in the United States.
The web server keeps an access log of each request: IP address, time, the page requested and the browser. Logs are kept for 14 days, and backups of the server, which include them, are kept for 14 days after that.
What I do not do
I do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or pass it to anyone beyond the services named on this page.
If you become a client
This page covers visitors to wphostguy.com. If I host your site, I handle its data only to host and maintain it, and that is covered by our agreement.
Your choices
Ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, or to delete it, and I reply within one business day. You can also block Google Analytics with your browser's tracking protection or an extension, and the site works the same without it.
If any of this changes, I update this page and its date.
