WordPress fixes · trades and supply firms · one person

I fix what's quietly broken on older WordPress sites.

Quote forms that say "sent" but never reach you. Plugins their makers have abandoned. Server software past its support date. I check your site for free, fix what you choose at a price agreed before I start, and on a maintenance agreement, re-check what I've fixed every month. Your site can stay where it is.

Sample findings, not a real site. A real check is from the outside only, with no logins, and lists at most five findings, each with what it means, what happens if it's left, and a price band for the fix.

What I've fixed

Each fix, before and after.

Each case file says what you would have seen, what I found, what I did and how it stays fixed, and is tagged with whose site it was.

See the case files and the fix log

Why these stay hidden

Each one looks fine until you test it.

Three places where the screen says one thing and the site does another. None of them shows an error.

"Up to date" can mean no one is fixing it

WordPress shows a plugin as up to date even after WordPress.org has closed it (Patchstack, October 2024). In 2024, 1,614 plugins and themes were removed from WordPress.org for unpatched security issues (Patchstack).

"Sent" is not the same as delivered

Since February 2024, Gmail has required SPF or DKIM, two checks that tie mail to its domain, from every sender (Google). A form that sends "from" the visitor's own address fails for every Yahoo or AOL customer, because both publish a policy telling other inboxes to reject mail that uses their address but did not come from them.

"On" is not the same as working

On my own site, a security plugin's switch showed as "on", but the server rule it relied on was not there after the site moved hosts, so it did nothing. When I fix something, I test that it works, and on a plan I re-check it every month.

How it works

Check it, fix it, then re-check it every month.

Start with the free check, and stop there if you like. Each step after it is your choice, and your site can stay on its current host throughout.

    Free site check

I look at your site from the outside, with no logins. You get at most five findings in plain English, each with what it means, what happens if it's left, and a price band for the fix. No obligation, no sales call.

  2. 02

    Fixed-price fix

You choose what to fix. The price is agreed before I start, and the quote is valid for 30 days. Each fix starts with a fresh backup. If I can't fix it, you get a full refund. If a fix fails for the same reason within 90 days, I fix it again at no charge.

    $250–$2,500

  3. 03

    Maintenance agreement

Updates, monitoring around the clock, a monthly test of your contact form and a monthly re-check of what I've fixed. Start within 30 days of a paid fix and your first month is free.

    From $199/mo

Every plan includes

A maintenance agreement for your website.

Think of it as a regular tune-up: checks, updates and small changes within your monthly time, from one person who knows your site. The price is the same whether I host your site or not. Anything that depends on my hosting says so.

Security that's actually maintained

91% of the WordPress vulnerabilities found in 2025 were in plugins (Patchstack). I keep WordPress and your plugins updated, and each month I re-check what I've fixed. When I host your site, it also sits behind Cloudflare's firewall, set up the same way as this site: the server only accepts web traffic that comes through Cloudflare.

Monitoring around the clock

Your site is monitored day and night, wherever it is hosted. When something needs attention, I am alerted automatically and I resolve it.

24/7 monitoring

Four-hour response for urgent changes

Some changes cannot wait: a wrong phone number or address, or legal wording that puts you at risk. Tell me it is urgent and I respond within four hours, or first thing in the morning if it comes in overnight.

Urgent requests come to me, not a queue

Speed, when I host your site

Hosted with me, your site is served through Cloudflare's CDN with page caching. If it stays on its current host, speed depends on what that host provides.

Cloudflare CDN · page caching · when I host

Daily backups, when I host your site

A server snapshot every day, kept for 14 days, plus a nightly copy of your database. Need something back? Ask me and I restore it from the most recent copy. If your site stays on its current host, backups are whatever that host provides.

Analytics and search, set up

I set up Google Analytics and Google Search Console in your name, give every page a proper title and description, and submit your sitemap. If I move your site, every page keeps the same address.

Who this is for

Businesses whose website brings in calls and quote requests.

Owner-run firms with a WordPress site that has been up for years, and no one looking underneath it now.

Trades and property-maintenance firms

HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, landscaping, restoration and property-maintenance vendors. Your site is where customers find your number and send a quote request. On a plan, I test your quote form every month, keep WordPress and its plugins updated, and make small changes, like new hours, within your monthly time.

Supply houses, distributors and small manufacturers

Your site carries the line card, spec sheets, branch hours, the credit application and the RFQ form. On a plan, I keep the WordPress site behind them updated and test your enquiry form every month. For anything that needs fixing, I quote a fixed price first.

Other owner-run businesses

If your WordPress site brings in enquiries and no one is looking after it, the same free check, fixed-price fixes and plans apply, at the same prices. I look after at most 46 sites in total.

Questions

Have questions?

Short answers to the common ones. See the full FAQ

Do I have to move my site to you?

No. I can fix your site where it is, and both plans cost the same whether it stays on its current host or moves to mine. If it stays, the server, CDN, firewall, SSL and backups are whatever your current host provides, and I work with that. Everything else in the plan is the same. If you do want to move, migration is free with an annual plan, or with a 3-month minimum on monthly billing.

What does a fix cost?

A fixed price, agreed before I start, and the quote is valid for 30 days. A single fix, for one contained problem, is $250 to $450. For example, setting up your form's mail and the domain records behind it, so it sends from your own domain. Or closing an old login route and testing that it stays closed. Or upgrading a modest site to a supported version of PHP, the software it runs on. A deep fix is $1,200 to $2,500, for example repairing an abandoned plugin or replacing a page builder. Your site does not need to move.

What if a fix doesn't hold?

Every fix has a 90-day workmanship warranty: if it fails for the same reason within 90 days, I fix it again at no charge. A problem with a different cause is a new fix, quoted first. On a plan, I also re-check what I've fixed every month.
